    I’m sure Sonar allows you to edit MIDI notes, so I guess the answer has to be yes.

    I use MIDI grooves as starting points for some rhythms (go Nir!), and I use REAPER to edit the MIDI -Sonar is supposed to have much better MIDI capability…

    Your missing a huge benefit and function of the Velocity knob.
    its “current” setting goes live on to a dragged midifile at that time of Dragging& Dropping giving you
    a multitude of variation to the played dynamic.I have found the minus settings to be very useful for intros ,verses,quiet sections.
    Going too far past the O setting sounds less natural very quickly as its already close to full on for the snare and kick and makes ghost notes in fancy busy files sound unrealistic.YMMV
    Please try this very quick test>

    Take 1 midifile and set the velocity -50 & then DnD
    Take same midifile and set the velocity -25 & then DnD
    Take same midifile and set the velocity O & then DnD
    Take same midifile and set the velocity +10 & then DnD.

    Hit playback on your DAW,
    What do you hear ?

    Its sort of a fast way to edit the dynamics at the time your dropping them saving you timing re editing them in your Daw.
