Howdy –
Installed EZd lite to evaluate after buying Presonus Studio One. Install went without incident – but when I open it up, the default kit doesn’t trigger the two rack toms, nor the two upper cymbals. No reaction from the pads when I click on them, and the little selector drop-down on each of them is grayed out, can’t select a sound to put on them. Kick/Snare/Hats/Low Tom Ok.
Possibly the issue – I decided to start from scratch with all the new software, wipe the drive and begin again. When trying to move the main EZd folder to a storage drive, the system came back with error msgs, something about one or more file names being too long, and refused to let me manipulate it. Might I have a corrupt install file?
I like the sounds that I AM hearing – I’d just like to hear the rest of them.
Any thoughts – or are the missing sounds what makes it the “Lite” version…..?
Thanks
Ric

Yes, from the EZD Lite product page:
EZdrummer Lite provides access to the great majority of the features available in the full product. Nevertheless the restricted sample pool will by definition render some part of the full documentation non applicable to the demo (as outlined in the manual, wherever possible).
In particular the following are disabled or otherwise limited:
• No crash cymbals and no rack toms are provided
• Alternative instrument selections are not possible
• Some specialist articulations included with the full product are not provided
• The sample pool cannot be expanded with add-on packs (EZX-s) available for the full version
• EZdrummer Lite edition ships with a limited amount of MIDI files
• Mixer preset saving is disabled
• Multi channel routing is disabled

Well then – effin’ “Lite”, indeed……… Got a next level up in a demo or such, I really like what I hear but I’d like to get a whole kit happening before plunkin’ down the shekels.
Scott – I note your location, spent a year at a private school in Lenox back early 70’s, Rockwood Academy on Old Sturbridge Road. Think it’s long gone now. Beautiful area, good times…….
Hi Ric,
No, there is no EZdrummer ‘not Lite but not quite heavy’ version . Let me know what type of music you’re into and I can whip up a ‘drums only’ demo in the style of your choice that shows the toms and crash sounds.
I’m about 45 minutes north and east of Lenox. I make my way out to that area a few times a year in September to rent band instruments to schools. We go out to Lenox, Stockbridge, and Great Barrington.
