My initial thought would be to play the beat through the entire piece with the hats, kick, snare and cymbal’s being triggered. After you are happy with that, punch in the rolls separately.

Your guitar hero trigger would have to output a message that could either re-translate the drum-map on the fly or would trigger a midi map input transformer on or off, or on a genuine note, why even bother with those for the moment, when you get a new set you’re going to have to manually edit in all the grace notes etc you are missing when it comes to comparing to the previous stuff you laid down, I know we have to make do sometimes, but I just can’t see how the controller could give you anything like the expression, you’re going to have to manually edit all the velocities afterwards??

As for “unclear topic title”, with 4 posts to your name, don’t you think stating more than the obvious would be more helpful? or is this a post count booster I’m missing?

    Kind regards

Agreed. Especially in a topic that is over 6 months old.
