Hey guys,
I’m experimenting with some different snare combos. Just can’t find that right sound that I’m looking for.
I’m using Metal Foundry, and when I add an x-drum with MF as the sound library, the x-drum sounds just like the snare I have presently loaded. But when I switch the library to NY-Avatar, the snare sounds really “tingy”, almost like there is a crazy amount of reverb on it.
I searched the forum and couldn’t find an answer to my dilema. Any ideas?

sure, Avatar is one of the largest room featured in a Toontrack product. You *may* get acceptable results by taming the AMB bleeds on the (Avatar) x-drum, or bumping the Chamber on the TMF set, or a bit of both.
Point though is: different recordings, different rooms, etc – so use your ear and understanding of each library’s character to reach the best compromise… loading defaults will unlikely yield the best results of the mix and match of rooms.
