Are you talking about 8 MIDI tracks or 8 audio tracks from your TD10?

If you record the MIDI out from your TD-10 and use the Superior 2 plugin as your sound source, the plugin can output 16 Stereo Aux Tracks in the Pro Tools Mixer. Alternatively, you can record the MIDI then use the Superior 2 internal Bounce function to render all microphones to separate Audio Tracks with full control over bleeds.

I have had similar issues and although I am a novice, here are my experiences:

I believe your TD10 has 8-outs similar to my td20. The signal is not strong enough for the preamps on the 003 to use so you can by a direct box to change the anolog signal coming fro the td. I bought a DI800 – it worked but I did not like the setup. I then bought a used M80 (higher quality 8-channel preamp) and that works great! No need for the DI80 so I sold it. Note only two of the 8 preamps on my digimax fs have the ability to convert the td signal so becareful if you start spending money in this manner.

I just purchased superior drummer a couple weeks ago, basically to simplify my life and eliminate a ton of chords. As mentioned above – connect midi cables beteween the 003 and TD and set up the drum kit mapping per the previous posts and manual (make sure to set “local midi off” in the td). Also, I found that I had to adjust the x-talk a bit in the td to stop a signigicant amount of unwanted triggering.

The pro tools routing for midi coming from the td is something you will have to search this forum for but I and figured it out. Now I need to study some more posts on micing and mixing as I am struggling to get the ride loud enough but I believe the tools are there to do so.

Because I have been doing some recording over the last couple days I reverted back to the 8- anolog outs from the td to the M80 preamps. At this early stage of my S2 experience I have not mastered it well enough (cymbal chokes, mapping, x-talk, mixing, micing, ect…) to perform as well as just recording 8 anolog channels into pro-tools. Not to discourage you as I will keep working on this and believe I will get there. There is a lot of power in S2.

    Good luck!
