I have a question regarding eq, ambiance. compression effects in a live setting. My goal is to create special user presets for use in live performances. I am triggering S2 (running on laptop) from a Roland e-drum set via Midi and then routing the sound output of my Audio Interface to my PA system, as well as drum stage monitor. I, of course realize that these effects depend upon both the PA system within the actual (real live) room – which would be different for each venue. So, my thought is to at least create a preset that is reasonably suited for the ambiance of small-med size bars/pubs that I play in – as a starting point – to save some time tweaking the effects again at time of sound check. So my question is:
Is there (or does anyone have) a user preset(s) that works for you in a live setting that I can use a starting point?
I would then tweak these presets for my specific PA system, then create variations for specific room that I play in. So idea is the next time I play in same room, I am all ready to go. The kits that I use are S2 Altaire, Avatar and C&V SDXs. Or would it make sense to just begin with Default preset as the starting point? Was hoping to save some time.
