Hello all,
I am currently looking to buy a Roland HD-1 to play in my dorm room, and was hoping to supplement it with EZdrummer/Toontrack solo and maybe the Drumkit from Hell (through my desktop PC, has an Audigy 2 ZS sound card). I have an acoustic kit also, but obviously that’s not a possibility here. My question though, is whether I can use EZdrummer to create custom setups in addition to adding new sounds.
For example, the HD-1 has a pre-programmed setup that works like this:
Both pedals – bass drum
Left cymbal pad – crash
Right cymbal pad – ride, hard hit triggers china
Middle tom pad – cowbell
Rack and floor tom
Open hat sound
I would rather change the setup though to something like this:
Both cymbal pads – crash (right crash a larger crash sound)
Middle tom pad – ride, hard hit triggers china
Rack and floor tom
Open hat sound
I know within the HD-1 itself MIDI notes cannot be moved around, so that’s why I was hoping that using EZdrummer would allow custom setups (in addition to the improved drum sounds). On a slightly unrelated note, I also know the HD-1 with its only single zone trigger pads/cymbals (can get 3 diff sounds per pad based on velocity only) is not going to be able to use all of the EZdrummer qualities, but more advanced e-kits would cause too much stick-on-pad noise and especially too much floor transmitted noise from the kick pedal/trigger.
Thanks so much!
