Hi Guys,
As stated just really need help setting up my EZdrummer with TD3 Roland kit I have.
I’ve downloaded the software, it’s ok – I did however have to download a audio application ‘ASIO’ device in order for it to continue otherwise it said “Fail or Error with Audio Device”.
I have a Realtek Audio Device Manager/ Soundcard and it works the sound nicely on the laptop however I cant seem to get any sound on my kit via TD3 Triggerbrain???
I have connected via usb to midi cable then I have connected my AMP via RCA lead from HP Jack input on my td3 kit to line input jack on my AMP.
This is really the inly problem as my toontrack works fine and displays the sound leds as they are played and sound comes out on laptop just not out on my AMP.
Please help
Thank you and I hope that was elaborate enough

right, I am confused. Why are you trying to connect the audio jacks of the TD3 to the amp? this can only give you the output of the module, bypassing the computer altogether. But possibly I misunderstand the connections you describe.
The only thing to be connected to the module (besides the triggers) should be the MIDI out port to the ‘usb to midi cable’ (knowing what MIDI interface you have would help us help you).
This will get the MIDI signal inside your computer, assuming you have the correct drivers for it and it is recognized in Toontrack solo (check the Options > MIDI Devices entry).
On the way out, sending audio to your amp, do you get any sound if you click the drums in the interface? If not do you ‘see’ a signal in the Toontrack solo mixer? have you checked which Audio driver is in effect (check the Options > Audio > Audio Devices entry).
Anyway, even with a generic ASIO driver, I might as well warn you upfront that, even if you get this set up to work, the latency (delay in hearing what you are playing) will be quite difficult to get used to. You really should invest in a dedicated audio interface, your RealTek Soundcard is just not going to cut it for any serious work and may seriously compromise your enjoyment of the product.

Hi Rogue,
Thanks for your prompt response…
ok I do get sound with hitting my pads but it doesnt send through to my AMP I can only get it on my laptop. You were spot on with the latency, as there is a noticable delay as I play the pads.
I have a cable connected from the Headphone input on the module – connects to the amp input (this is the same connection I use without the laptop, to get the sounds from the TD3 module itself directly to the amp it’s works fine. But for some reason it doesn’t pick up the sound from EZdrummer – which is transferred into the module right? for it to trigger the pads? – to transfer to the AMP. Hope this makes sense.
Would you say that I can only connect my AMP directly to Laptop for sound? If so what sort of cable would I need?
And what would you recommend for an audio device? Would it be worthwhile for a laptop?
I really appreciate your help on this mate

… like I said in my previous reply, this can only give you the output of the module, bypassing the computer altogether. And: the only thing to be connected to the module (besides the triggers) should be the MIDI out.

I can hardly be more precise with zero details about your equipment, sorry 😉

sure, why not? if you want to play on your e-kit, triggering any virtual drum program then it’s not even an option. As to what you should buy I can’t really advice you on hardware purchases but popular brands are M-Audio, Presonus, Tascam, RME (and many others).
