Hi,
I own a Roland TD6 kit and now I’m experimenting with Superior Drummer. Nice sounds! There’s only one thing I cannot get fixed: the cymbals are way too sensitive. I only have to touch them and they go allmost full blast. Fiddling with the sensitivity settings in the TD6 module does not help, the dynamic range is very very limited. This in contrary to the snare and toms, here the dynamics are acceptable (however, even here I would like a less loud sound when I barely touch the pads).
Can anyone help? I would very much appreciate if someone who also has the TD6 with SD2 would give me a step to step instruction how to make the best settings in both the TD6 and in Superior Drummer (and als the settings in Toontrack Solo which I use as host). I ask this because I’m not very much of an expert with Midi (I read a lot in this Forum, but could not figure out what to do).
Thanks in advance,
Anko
Another one with the same problem. I tried handling the velocity curves but the result was terrible. Any advise?.
Thx
well, I would suggest you experiment some more with the response curve on the mapping page… if the results were worst after tweaking than before then you corrected them in the opposite way then they should have.
That said if the MIDI information generated by the module has little to no dynamics and is full on velocity 127 then ultimately there is nothing you’ll be able to correct from the software end.

If you haven’t already (I’m running a TD-6 kit as well) you will need to adjust the sensitivity and potentially the velocity curves from the basic trigger menu in your TD-6 module for each pad (especially cymbals in your case). As well be sure that you have the correct pad defined in your module (CY-8 if you have a CY-8). In my case I had the wrong snare pad defined and was running into the same type of problem.
At this point you can make some fine tuning in SD2. Make sure you have the latest 2.2.1 version, as well make sure you have selected e-drums.
