I hope my post is appropriate for this forum. If not, I apologize and would appreciate it very much if someone could point me to a more suitable discussion. I have been using and reusing Roland Octapads for years and am about to run out of any that still work. Anything that’s hit will wear out, no big discovery there. But Roland doesn’t make them any more. They had six external trigger inputs so I could always configure it like an acoustic setup. KAT would be a possible substitute, but it’s overkill for what I need in a midi pad controller; it’s also expensive and requires the manual to be close at hand.
I haven’t heard anything good about the Alesis controller, which only provides a couple of inputs for kick and hat.
So I was wondering if anyone knew someone who makes a pad controller that is simple to use and, for lack of a better example, would make my transition from the Octapad an easy one. Or anyone who would like to make one for me. Thanks!
