you do not say what Toontrack product you use, so it is rather difficult to help 🙂

… if you are using Superior Drummer then there is an ‘edrum’ option that will translate the notes appropriately. If you are using EZdrummer however you need to use it in conjunction with Toontrack solo, or set up input transformers in Cubase (with possible MIDI timing issues).

set up a drum map in Cubase, and you should be fine and dandy…I use Sonar and the dtxplorer, so cant help you with the exacts on how to do it….but basically, you just remap the couple of notes that dont line up…..do a search on the cubase forums, I bet someone probably has a map already made up…

cheers and good luck with it..

    Hello Wiz,

I also use Sonar (X1 Expanded Producer). Are you using any particular mapping method to use DTXplorer with SD 2? I am having a difficult time setting it up to trigger properly.

    Thanks,

This thread is old, but since there’s many people out there not getting this to work I joined this forum just to help a few other “lost souls” just as myself yesterday..

I’ve had my problems with this myself, took me a good 12 hours yesterday – but it’s fixable.
Since DTXplorer does not support GM, you have to re-map all the notes. Here’s how to do that..

1: Get a shareware software called “E-Drum Midi mapper” – (just google it)
2: Get a shareware software called “LoopBe1” – (google that to)
3: In E-drum midi mapper, you should choose the LoopBe1 as input, and your midi-usb connection cable as output.
4: You have to set up new channels, and re-adress the notes coming in – so the change to notes readed by EZ.

I’ll post this list of ins & outs later that I use – that will save you many hours of searching… Right now I’m still in my rope drinking morning coffee…
