hi!!
it is possible to setup sd2.1 to obtain the sound of the rim only and rimshot as a real acoustic set???
i have tried the button learn, and it’s ok for the “rim only” but for the rimshot it seems that the midi note is the same for the rim only.
i wish it is possible to have the rimshot only when i hit the mesh and the rim at the same time!
Hi,
this would be more up to your module; is it able to send separate notes for a rimshot and a sidestick/crosstick?
Best Regards,
John

You can’t do this with just a TD-12 and Superior 2…..It can be achieved within a DAW like cubase….but it is a rather complicated procedure

Guys, I read the subject line too fast so I didn’t catch that deadbrain uses a TD-12.
I have a TD-12 myself and I can engage ‘X-stick’ and then set the crosstick threshold under Trigger settings. Giving me crosstick at lower velocity and (in my case) rimshot when I hit harder than 90.
It sends separate notes depending on how hard I strike.

I was reading the last comment
‘i wish it is possible to have the rimshot only when i hit the mesh and the rim at the same time!’
This is not a normal feature of the TD-12….as you say you could separate a rim only/rimshot sound by velocity but it’s not quite the same thing…..I have achieved what deadbrain is asking but you need to use a Tom input on the TD-12 and use Cubase input transformer

too much works to do!
there’s no problem.
i’ll continue without the rim only on the snare!!!

No….it isn’t…but I am incredibly thick sometimes
It’s a good thing you’re around, Damian.
