Heya folks.
Sorry, this may not be the best place to go. My son, 12 yo, has expressed an interest in an eletronic drumkit. I dont know how long his interest will last, but also dont want to “half-a$$” a setup too much and discourage him. I am not much of a musician and know only a little more than the average electronic geek on drum machines/triggers/etc.
That said, where do i go for more basic info? Is there a site? Looking for sort of a primer on e-drum kit info. What to look for, etc. I dont know if something like this kit would be appropriate, does it hook up to the sound card or do i need a sound module? Software? etc.
I was originally thinking about find out what is out there similar to an alesis d4 with triggers inputs and sounds all built into one, but realized computers and software nowadays can probably do it all, and eventually ended up here.
How does the clueless become less clueless, at least enough know the good from the bad and be able train mayself and my son on this topic?
