Hi There,
New member here. New to e-drumming as well. So, I’ve been playing around with quick press rolls(6-10 hits or so) for both snare and hi-hat and have come upon something that seems to work well. Just wanted to know what ya’ll are doing and if there’s anything else I ought to be thinking about. I envision/imagine the hits as being spaced apart greater along the time axis at the beginning of the roll, and less towards the end. Originally, I tried lessening the velocity of each hit in a linear fashion, which sounded very mechanical. Then I tried setting the velocity of each hit in a downward parabolic manner which would seem to me to be more natural, and came up with a great results. Though I’m not a drummer, this makes sense to me, and since it sounds natural then I suppose I’m in buisness. Any thoughts, and any other approaches would be appreciated.
Thanks, Dave
Ooops, sorry, i think I’m in the wrong forum. Off I go!!!
