Hello.
I’m new to the forums. Been lurking for months, and decided to soldier up and ask for help.
I’m a drummer. What I want to do is trigger sound fx live on stage. Ideally, I only want to use TT product in the live rig as I don’t always have time to worry about firing up my DAW host software. I have limited knowledge of MIDI. (Read I only know what MIDI stands for lol)
I am already able to trigger some individual drum sounds included with ezdrummer, but is there a way to include my own samples? Like say, oh the billion or so .wav files available online? I even have some that I’ve made in Sonar that I’d like to be able to use.
I have been searching feverishly for a specific answer, both here and other forums, so forgive me if I’ve overlooked it in the forum search here.
Here is what I have to work with:
Vista 64 bit laptop
Intel core 2 T5550 1.8G
4G RAM
Ezdrummer
Ezplayer
TT solo
Sonar HS6xl (Running 32 bit)
Allen & Heath ZED 14 USB mixer (This trumps my cheesy Sigma Tel sound card anyway right?)
Alesis Trigger I/O
Pintech Dingbat tubular pad
Thanks so much in advance!
Will Ezplayer accept .wav samples? Or only the specially compressed .wav that seem to be proprietary to Toontrack?
In other words, if I have a dry recording of something I’ve sampled like brake drums, or laughter, there is no way to get that .wav to a MIDI file is there?
Hi,
EZplayer is not a sampler, it is a MIDI file Arranger/Librarian/Converter tool, so it can not load samples.
EZdrummer can only load EZdrummer EZX:s due to a number of reasons, so this would have to be done separately at this stage.
I’m sure there are some users out there willing to share their live setup secrets;-)
Best Regards,
John
