I have been mulling ideas about putting multiple triggers on the same pad.
In particular cymbals.
My TD-3 has 3 inputs for cymbals, however, I only have two and my two are both single zone.
So I am thinking of either hacking or making a new one.
Making the new one have two different cymbal triggers in it.
Hmmm… how to restate… make it into two different cymbals.
Each with bow and edge triggers, maybe a choke.
I don’t use the choke very often so, that part is not as important.
I have ordered 10 piezo’s from ebay and am trying to think about design.
I am also trying to make the best use of the supports that already exist on my set.
These are cymbals, I know, but why do we try to emulate the look of cymbals when we make these triggers?
How should the spacing go for the triggers and how to isolate multiple triggers on the same structure?
So right now I am thinking about using attaching the piezos to an old cdrom.
Then making a sandwich with it.
Some sort of wood base with an old cut up yoga mat, under the cd to isolate it from the base.
Then a cut mousepad on top. The mouse pad is the playing surface.
This might be too hot, i might have to throw a resistor in there.
I also thought about cork board…
Does anyone know the voltage the td-3 looks for for max velocity trigger?
Thoughts or ideas?
